ACC student staff assistant Jason Tang(Class of 2027, Kelley School of Business) delivered a powerful and moving remark at the 2026 Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast Celebration, held at the Indiana Memorial Union on Monday, January 19, 2026.
Jason reflected on growing up in Memphis, the meaning of service, and Dr. King’s vision of the “beloved community,” reminding us that service is not only love but also resistance.
Based on the Bloomington campus of Indiana University, the Asian Culture Center (ACC) aims to promote awareness, understanding, and acceptance of Asian American and Pacific Islander cultures, history, and issues as an integral part of the fabric of American life in the United States.
The ACC, a program of the Office of Student Life, accomplishes this through advocacy, institutional resources, cultural and educational support, and community outreach activities that promote participation and dialogue with students, faculty, staff, and residents of Indiana.
One does not have to be of Asian or Pacific Islander heritage to be involved with the ACC. Everyone is welcome!
