OpenStreetMap Edit-a-thon

Thursday, April 30, 4:00 to 6:00 pm, at the Wells Library IQ Wall

Hello fellow map-lovers! Have you heard about crowd-sourced mapping? This is your opportunity to take map power into your own hands and map for a cause!

In this workshop, we will learn how to edit OpenStreetMap, a crowd-sourced mapping tool. This workshop teaches skills that will empower you to make contributions to ongoing humanitarian mapping projects in Nepal and elsewhere around the world. We'll be using the IQ Wall, which will allow us to make tiny edits to the map without squinting! This is a great opportunity to learn more about collaborative mapping, web mapping in general, and to improve geographic data for places we care about. For more information, see OpenStreetMap and Humanitarian OpenStreetMap. Contact Theresa Quill (theward@indiana.edu) with questions. Join the Facebook event here!
