We are pleased to offer DestinAsian Chicago: Learning on the Road for the second time due to the overwhelming success of the inaugural trip last academic year. DestinAsian Chicago is a partnership between the Asian Culture Center and the CommUNITY Education Program within Residential Programs and Services.
DestinAsian is part of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. This immersion trip is open to any IUB students and can also fulfill some of academic course's co-curricular goals, including the field study component of the AAST-A300 course "Asian American and Pacific Islander Communities and Social Change."

This educational trip will take place on April 5-6, 2019. Participants will examine the topics of Asian American and Pacific Islander history, immigration, community engagement and activism, and the arts through meetings, lectures, and cultural tours.
This trip will focus on learning about AAPI communities and the impact they have on Chicago and the Midwest. We also hope to establish relationships with AAPI leaders involved in nonprofits, academics, government, and the arts.
Highlights of this year’s trip include AAPI neighborhood and cultural tours, meetings with Asian Americans Advancing Justice and the Japanese American Citizens League, and visits to the Rohingya Cultural Center and Cambodian American Museum and Killing Fields Memorial.
