ACC Safe Rides to Campus Program
The Asian Culture Center Safe Rides to Campus program is in response to the legitimate needs of Asian and Asian American students wishing to have a safe ride to and from campus following the city bus stabbing attack on an Asian student. The Asian Culture Center is grateful to the donor who provided funds to start this program.
We are prioritizing students who live off campus to utilize this service to get to campus during the week for classes and other academic engagements. Students who live in IU Residence Halls are recommended to use IU Campus Bus. Here are their routes: https://iubus.indiana.edu/schedules/index.html.
This program will provide off campus residents up to 2 Lyft rides per day with an $8 discount per ride to or from campus between 7 am to 9 pm. The ACC has arranged for a maximum of 50 overall rides per week for this program beginning February 8th to March 15th based on our available funds. The funds for the program are limited and it will shut off for the week after the funding limit has been reached. Please complete the form for review and approval.
*Please note that your Lyft ride must begin or end in the service area boundaries in order to be eligible for the $8 off discount. These are the same map boundaries as the IU Ride Late Nite boundaries.
By using this service, you are consenting to the Asian Culture Center reaching out to you in March to assess the usefulness of this service, and its effect on your overall sense of safety and well-being. We will assess this service after spring break and will continue offering it based on need and availability of funds.
