Bloomington, Ind. – The Indiana University Asian Culture Center and the City of Bloomington invite the public to the 2025 Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month opening celebration on Thursday, March 27, 2025.
This year's Asianfest has two parts. The outdoor celebration, including food trucks, activity booths, and games, will be held between Walnut and Washington Streets on Kirkwood Avenue from 5 to 7 pm. Cultural performances will be held at the Buskirk Chumley Theatre, 114 E Kirkwood Ave from 7 to 8:30 pm. All events are free and open to the public.
The theme for the 2025 celebration is "Celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander History and Community." This year, we honor our shared history and the diverse backgrounds within the Asian and Pacific Islander communities, reminding us that the United States is a nation of immigrants, where every person has a unique and inspiring story to tell. In times of challenge, we can draw strength and hope from our history and its enduring legacies. Let’s unite to strengthen our community by celebrating our customs and reaffirming our commitment to respect and uplift one another.
